    HBO guy vs HBO guy

Sound like another guy HBO is forcing to step up before his ready..

Remember HBO forcing Thomas Dulorme to fight Carlos Abregu

Probably more a case of getting americans to be a little interested in Wlad before he faces Stiverne or Wilder.

Nah. Jennings was calling out both Klitschkos in 2012. Never stopped mentioning it. HBO isn't forcing anything on this one. Jennings had the self belief to take this fight for the last two years. He said he wanted to get them before they leave, his trainer said at the time whenever they get the offer they take it. Later Wlad offered Jennings a spot as sparring partner in one of his camps. Jennings made a thing about declining because he didn't want to be seen as a sparring partner for a guy he wanted to be fighting instead and he felt Wlad used future opponents for sparring to feel them out and he didn't want any part of it even though he could've used the money. Actually, HBO made this offer for Jennings/Wlad for May of last year and Wlad took Pianeta as a voluntary instead, minus HBO coverage.

**** supporting this guy and his embarrassing run. I'm done.
How anyone can fault Wlad for fighting Kubrat Pulev is totally beyond logical comprehension. Pulev is a top 5 hw contender who has a solid pro record and worked his way into the number 1 spot. Moreover, Pulev gave Wlad his hardest fight in years. The last time Wlad was staggered in a fight was back in '05 when he fought Sam Peter, the first time. Pulev staggered him twice during the fight and hadn't he been so caviler he might've been able to go a couple more rounds.

Pulev was the best opponent available to Wlad and you're criticizing him? That's totally irrational

I agree. dont see how you can criticize the pulev and jennings fights. austin and leapai were mandatories. the mormeck and pianetta fights were bad choices but there wasnt alot of other options then as all the top rated guys had fights lined up or turned down offers. I dont think wlad has ducked fights its just the heavyweight division has been bad for a while albeit slowly picking up now

I don't think anyone can fault him, but that doesn't mean he's particularly good. Who did he beat? Ustinov? Tony Thompson 43 years old? Not super impressive whichever way you put it.

Wlad has been staggered against Wach and Haye since that Peter fight, if only briefly - but it was the same against Pulev. I don't think Pulev gave him his toughest fight since then either, but I guess only Wlad could answer that.

Seriously, what are you talking about? Multiple top 10 fighters rejected to fight him.... Whether he sent the contract or not, they were on record saying they weren't ready. So, Wlad stayed busy. Is he not supposed to fight because no top fighter wants to fight him?

Here is my point, that you somehow overlooked: Wladimir Klitschko fought Wach, Mormeck and Pianeta because no top fighter wanted to fight him at time of those dates. When did I say it's an accomplishment to fight top 10 fighters? You're twisting my words..... I'm saying he's wanted to and WANTS to fight top 10 guys, up until Povetkin/Pulev.... they were rejecting the opportunity to fight him. Fury, Povetkin, Pulev, etc.... ALL said they weren't ready for Wlad at the time of the Pianeta fight, for example.

What don't you understand about that? Like I said, everything I said about guys not wanting to fight him until Povetkin last year is true.... Wlad fought those crappy voluntary opponents because no one else was willing to fight him. Period.
Many guys duck Wlad because he low balls these fighters. It's 1 million dollars take it or leave it. Guys with better options leave it. I recall Tua getting an offer for less money, maybe something like a quarter million. Tua got 1 million or so to destroy chinny club fighter Shane Cameron. He also had a television deal with New Zealand television that payed him better than that too.

I wouldn't either, he can't beat a legitimate non paper contender. Everybody that knows boxing understands this. Wlad didn't embarrass the sport by fighting Oldyfield either.

To think Jennings was demanding a title shot over a year ago...Jennings has ZERO chance in my books.

He was getting beaten comfortably by Mike Perez before Perez got gassed and faded very badly.
