But you'll hear that argument. Or pac v algieri - algieri was the fighter who'd been at 140 his entire career, but I heard people complaining that pac was draining algieri.
For some reason, only recently have fans complained about catchweights. It was never an issue. History shows back in 1904, weltr champ Walcott v lightwt champ Gans was fought at a catchwt. Other greats like Pancho villa, henry armstrong, Emile griffith fought catchwt bouts. Leonard v Lalonde, Terry Norris v meldrick taylor, Ayala v Tapia, bhop v de la hoya, henry maske v virgill hill. The list goes on...
When referring to past fights it seems that most of the guys are from different divisions-which is cool and allows for some great fights to happen. But if you need to even the playing field IN YOUR OWN DIVISION it's just weak man. And people are getting upset about it now because this isn't something that's happening more and more as a regular part of negotiations for big fights.

Seriously, why did Pac feel the need to make a CW with Algeri??? He could have let him come in at 147 and came in at whatever he wanted and the result would have been exactly the same. Or if you wanted to see what it was like at 140.....fight at 140, simple enough. All the top guys are just abusing it IMO and it makes them look silly IMO

One thing I don't really mind is rehydration clauses, but would prefer same day weigh ins

I have yet to see or hear pertinent that would lead me to believe Canelo is just mouth. I think he is honest and will do what he says. Its actually a breath of fresh air. The one who stinks up the house is ruining boxing and soon he will be gone.

Cotto is back to his old ways, Roach has brought him to A level as you boys say, he has put the old stamina back, he has looked like an old washed up fighter until Roach got him , Roach has brought back his left hook that is devastating, new foot work that can't be denied, he was in the right place with knee or no knee and cracked that head which proved devastating to Martinez. He is smart, much smarter now.

Canelo in my opinon would be a much greater fighter if he had Roach, but that ain't happening. Canelo likes to fight not chase, and has good power.

This is going to be a great fight, I don't know who is gonna win, I like them both going in. I am 50 50 on this fight and hope it ends in a brutal KO, it will be two fighters looking for the KO and try to get it if one gets hurt.

I don't give a flip about PPV, but this fight will make good ppv numbers. I hope they make the fight. I will be happy to purchase this fight.

hmmmmmmmm got ahead of myself. If Canelo wins I think he will give GGG his moment in the sun.

Hopefully if he beats Cotto he will fight GGG.

GGG to KO Canelo for the lineal Middleweight Champeenship of da Worl !!!!

IF Cotto wins, I think Roach will suck it up and take the GGG fight but it will be a bad night for Cotto as he will be KO'd as well.

I think GGG will take care of Murray by 6

This guy needs to just shut up and sit down somewhere. There's absolutely no way that he's getting in there eith GGG. Shane mosley said the even with the head gear. It was ugly for alvared.

I believe 100% that Canelo would fight God of War should he fight and beat Cotto. I also believe that a Cotto without Roach would fight God of War as well as pre-Roach Cotto fought EVERYBODY. Once you get with Roach, its all about maximizing profit while avoiding risk. It pains me to not be able to root for Cotto in fights anymore because of Roach. Roach is a vulture and an opportunist of the highest caliber, while Cotto is a throwback fighter of the highest caliber.

Not much of a problem with a fight like Hop/Pavlik at a CW, but the MW title being contested at 155 and 159 is flat out ridiculous. 159 is the dumbest demand in boxing that I can think of.....again, how can you be "the man" in a division you don't fight in?

Canelo has already been avoiding a Triple G clash... Canelo already stated he's not ready for Triple G... He said 2016... And he's been fighting at catch weights to avoid moving up to the full 160 even though he knows he can't make 154 without killing himself, how he made 152 and was medically cleared to fight Floyd is beyond me...
