What gets this fight done is a 60/40 split in favor of Cotto, along with a co-sponsorship between Tecate and Corona, and the fight must take place in Vegas. Texas commission is too shady. My thoughts exactly. If Cotto is giving him the date he wants than he should be able to choose the location. Cotto should get the bigger split of the money 60/40 is more than fare 55/45 would be least I would give Canelo. If I'm Cotto I would begin talks with Mayweather, both guys could use negotiations to get the fight that they want.

If we can't get Floyd vs Manny, and Cotto vs Canelo. I would be fine with Floyd vs Cotto 2 or Canelo vs Manny.

bring the fight here to jerry world. cowboys stadium is sick. the commission not so much and this fight better not be a decision. texas judges stink, but i will be there if it is made in vegas or cowboys stadium. nice matchup should have good ppv numbers.

Soooooo Canelo wants to pick the date, beer sponsor, weight and will only balk on the venue if the alternative is Texas? What? Sounds like CANELO is tough to negotiate with, its like he had the terms already set going in and just wants Cotto to say yes.

I don't think that lineal or Ring title means anything in this case. Cotto doesn't intend on fighting actual MW's from the indications so far, has never actually fought at MW himself and this next fight looks like another catchweight special...Canelo wants the fight in his new division 155 and I'm sure Cotto is all for that. How can either one of these guys be the best in a division they don't fight in?

its just part of the process. Cotto makes all these demands and they meet somewhere in the middle. I don't Canelo would be a stickler over who walks first, introduced first or all that stuff. Beer sponsors? Cmon that's a weak negotiating angle to take. I think it gets announced shortly before Christmas. May have to make some plans to go to Vegas or Texas for this one.

Sorry but Cotto IS the MW champion, Just like Stevenson IS the LHW champion regardless of Kovalev and Golovkin being the best fighters in their division. When Pacquiao drops down to 140, he wont be regarded as the Jr WW champion, thats Danny Garcia. My point is these things are settled in the ring, Cotto never intended to compete with MWs, this just happens to be a unique opportunity where he can defend the title against someone whose move to 160 is imminent, unless 155 becomes an official division.
