    Right...
Canelo has to torture himself in order to make 155lb (only to come at 175 in the fight night)...

Is this fight aired by HBO? ... Then it will be Tecate -- Canelo is free to wear the Corona logo on his shorts...

Cotto doesn't like the 50-50 split? Well, he's right in my opinion -- he's the "lineal champ" at the middleweights, isn't he?

The simple fact that Canelo makes public the negotiation details represents a sign that they will comply with most of Cotto's demands...

Why would anyone think Canelo would be the A Side in this fight… Cotto has fought on more ppv's, he is the true middleweight champ (beating Sergio), the day he normally fights on is in June (Puerto Rican Day Parade). Not to mention they are demanding 50/50 & locations of Vegas or Texas. Canelo has in his favor better numbers vs Floyd. That won't be enough to get Cotto to concede so many perks, not to mention the A side. Canelo will have to give up a lot for this fight to happen. Which also might mean saying by to May 2nd.

          In a perfect world, yes...

But in case the fight is on HBO (which it is, I suspect), I can't see Tecate creating a precedent by sharing the advertising space with Corona...

(Big sponsors in pro boxing are quite a few -- the TV networks just can't play games in this department...)

lmaooo 50/50 split na canelo your not the A side and the fight will be in vegas not texas and the only reason cotto will agree on vegas is because he has fought there before and the tax exception don't try to say cotto is known for making demands because we only heard that in Sergio who wasn't even a big draw

Based on what I read in this article, Canelo has already won the date portion so why should Cotto budge on his demands? I'd love to see Cotto fight in Texas (which would make it easier for me to watch the fight in person) but I know a decision outcome of the fight would favor Canelo. With that said, since Canelo got his way as far as the date is concerned, Cotto should be allowed to pick the venue. 55/45 in Cotto's favor would be fair (based on the fight date again) given that Canelo's fans can just travel to NY; the PRican Day Parade date cannot be changed. I don't understand Canelo's demand for a 155lb catchweight demand though. I'd think the 160lb limit would favor him too but maybe not. In either case, it seems like Canelo is the one with the most demands this time even though he's not the "A side". Let's get this fight made already before MW offers Cotto money he can't refuse, which gives him another excuse to not fight Pacquiao!

Yeah, diva Cotto is legend status per many boxing fans... but geez why all the hardnose shii? Negotiation isn't sending a list of demands with no substitutes. I doubt Cotto gets past Canelo anyway, but man this sure is lame.

I don't think that lineal or Ring title means anything in this case. Cotto doesn't intend on fighting actual MW's from the indications so far, has never actually fought at MW himself and this next fight looks like another catchweight special...Canelo wants the fight in his new division 155 and I'm sure Cotto is all for that. How can either one of these guys be the best in a division they don't fight in?

If Cotto doesn't like the terms he can go fight Golovkin or give up that MW title.

I don't understand why Alvarez wants the fight at 155 though, that only favors Cotto and there aren't any fights left for him at 154 with value. Last I heard Kirkland won't ever be making that weight again, Canelo would have no interest in fighting Andrade, and everyone else not named Clottey fights for Haymon off HBO.

I do hope the fight goes to Texas, would be nice to see a big US fight with a crowd of 50,000+.
