Ummm....Maybe because Floyd has just 2 fights left whereas Canelo will be around for many more years making the MGM more money in the future.

But who said it has to be at the MGM?

It doesn't take a genius to know that Floyd vs anyone not named Pacquiao will fail and fail miserably if they were to go up against Canelo/Cotto. It would be financial suicide for Showtime.

Look I know you and others desperately want floyd off the date and want SHowtime to fail and want casual fans to think like you. That isn't enough for those involved in the business. You are going to have to show that canelo/cotto would make more money and nothing we have seen suggests it will.

Again, who are you to decide what the better fight is? What if it is Floyd v khan. I agree that cotto/canelo is a better fight on paper but we are in an era where the better fights (cotto/Sergio and canelo/lara) combined don't outsell floyd/maidana 2.

I know most of NSB wants floyd off the date. cool, But you have to show that you are going to make more money than he does. So far, nothing from cotto or canelo suggests they would.

i couldnt give a toss who outsells who. bottom line is cotto vs canelo is a better fight than floyd vs anybody not named pacman. when you are watching the fight, you want to be watching a good fight, not salivate over how much they are getting paid. try it.

cotto and canelo dont have to do fcuk all other than train hard and put on a good fight.

I agree with this opinion. And its already been speculated Sho losing money on the Maidana fights with no fights to compete with. Imagine going up against Canelo/Cotto on the same day....

I agree especially CBS lost another $16M on Floyd-Maidana. There's a big reason why president of CBS is taking over the negotiations.

i just love to see may/khan go against cotto/canelo...lets see if Floyd sells like he always claims that's it's him who sells,thats why Floyd fights on those dates because of the Mexican fans,always saying he loves mexico and what not,well if a Mexican like canelo is fighting on that date i'm sure Floyd will just have to move because showtime will not want to compete against canelo/cotto,floyds ppv will take a big hit and so what if he's got his 30 plus million guaranteed,showtime will not want to lose money like they are already,barely breaking even is what I hear

I bet if floyd ends up fighting khan then showtime will have to stack the undercard. We already know hbo and bobby dont care about the undercards.

Canelo is showing his ignorance on two occasions; 1, there wouldn't be a Mexican Independence day if it weren't for the thousands of blacks that fought to defeat the conquistadors, ****, Vicente Guerrero and his wife is half black and that's why they outlawed slavery in Mexico once they won the war and claimed Mexico's Independence. 2, Mayweather makes and generates more money than Canelo when it comes to PPV's. Canelo had his chance to take over those dates when he decided to fight Mayweather and got his ass kicked something embarrassingly on Blaxican Independence day.

If Canelo or anyone for that matter wanted to fight on that date he should've BEEN doing it.

Alvarez needs to shut up because he is going to look like an even bigger fool when Oscar De La Hoya tells him he has to changet the dates of his fights because Mayweather is fighting on those dates.

Mayweather didn't seem to have any problem negotiating with Cotto for their first fight. So, on May 2, we will see either Mayweather/Pacquaio, Mayweather/Khan or Mayweather Cotto II. Even if Alvarez tries to piss in Mayweather's Kool-Aid by fighting on regular HBO on those dates the way he did when Chavez fought Martinez, HBO will not allow it. Regardless, Alvarez is going to end up looking like what he is -- a wannabe trying to assume the throne.

Blame Oscar for Floyd fighting on those Mexican holidays...........Floyd TOOK those date by beating Oscar....Canelo had his chance to take them by beating Floyd buy he failed and failed miserably.
