Egis Klimas, manager of WBO/IBF/WBA light heavyweight Sergey Kovalev (26-1, 23KOs), says Mexican superstar Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-1-1, 32KOs) is a possible option for them in the future.

Kovalev is already set to face Jean Pascal on March 14th, provided the Canadian boxer wins his stay busy fight on Saturday night.

Beyond Pascal, the pickings are going to be slim at 175 if Kovalev is unable get WBC champion Adonis Stevenson in the ring.

As much of a chance of this happening as the Stevenson fight I suppose. If and when Kovalev gets past Pascal, Kovalev-Ward becomes a legacy fight for both men. Hopefully Ward moves up for that fight.

Chavez won't even fight GGG at 168, I have no faith in a Kovalev fight for Chavez unless something seriously weird happens....

I'd gain a TON of new respect for Andre Ward if he were willing to move up and take on Kovalev.
