WBO/WBA super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux was training hard at Jorge Rubio's gym in Miami, Florida. It was officially announced in Tokyo that Japanese OPBF featherweight champion (IBF Eastern and Pacific) Hisashi Amagasa (28-4-2 19 KOs) will challenge Guillermo Rigondeaux (14-0, 9 KOs) for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) title. The World Boxing Association's championship will not be at stake. The fight takes place on major show being staged on the 31st of December at the Bodymaker Colosseum in the city of Osaka.
