    Why does that matter?

Why did Stevenson and not Rigo win FOTY last year?

I think the better question is how doesn't it matter? Nobody beat a better opponent this year than manny did. Kovalev did well .. Crawford did well ... but not as well as that.

Who you got having a better year than him btw?

Rigo actually was voted FOTY on nsb...

Roach was boxing writers trainer of the year lol . He clearly shouldn't have been.

The donaire that Walters beat was not prime donaire....rigo damaged donaire

Because he'd already beaten him convincingly once and it wasn't even asked for. It wasn't a super fight or anything like that, pretty much just manny setting the record straight against a good all round, but nothing special, fighter.

I think Crawford & Gonzalez had better years. Much better. I think Walters, Pacquiao, Kovalev and Mayweather can all fight for 3rd spot.

Alvarez beat the #1 LMW but no one seems to give him a shout.

Well he didn't get it which is what matters. Not even sure I'd give it to him either, but he obviously had a great year (Rigo).

Roach seems to get it when no one else is standing out.

Bradley is an elite fighter man. He beat Marquez.

He is widely regarded as the third best fighter in the best division in boxing

How can you call Bradley prime elite, and Donaire not the same when they were LITERALLY at the exact same stage in their careers? Only difference is Bradley was given a gift vs Pacquiao. That's it. Other than that, they both came off a loss to a top fighter, had a war, and won a belt. Same age. Same stage. Only Donaire is the greater fighter.

... I didn't take the Bradley II match seriously... I felt like it was a "give it back" fight...
