Pacquiao should be FOTY 2014

Not even in contention, it's either Walters or Crawford. Honestly though, it hasn't been an impressive year for anyone.Comment

I'm thinking it should be Terrence Crawford or maybe Sergey Kovalev. I would have picked Canelo if he ended up fighting and KO'ing Clottey this December. I'm thinking GGG is the obvious one though. Was pretty amazing for Pac to rebound and up his stock and presence in the boxing world thoughComment

eh, idk. Crawford had a solid year, nothing spectacular, but it was good. As did Pac and Kov. I don't see a clear run-away. And by the standards Crawford is being judged on, I think you can add Cotto to that list for bouncing back against Rodriguez impressively and then moving up in weight to dethrone Sergio Martinez - which has similarities to Crawford's Gamboa win, just more impressive and actually against a champion.
There just isn't a standout however.
that's complete bull****. if any other fighter besides Pac and Floyd, beat Bradley then Algieri after they beat Marquez and Ruslan, that guy would be hyped beyond proportion and the foty would be far less a question in their case than in Manny's or even Floyd's. Time and time and again, when the public gets accustomed to a certain standard you've set, they will inevitably start to devalue it - and when someone else comes along and exceeds their prior accomplishments by hitting your mark, they are renowned for it.Comment

2013 really ****** for Boxing IMO. A lot of top guys fought shlt fights with lesser opposition. Manny beating Bradley like he did was a good win. Just getting up from that KO loss and beating Rios, Bradley and Algieri like they were just light years from his league was pretty good. Im gonna go with Manny and its not because im a fan of his.Comment

I'd give him fighter of the year if his second fight was, Oh I dunno, someone like Shawn Porter or something (I know networks/promoters etc) . . . but no not for Algeri. To me Pac has realistically only fought once this year. Bradley win was a goodun' though.Comment
