If the Cotto-Canelo fight materialises, Mayweather will be sidelined and would have to fight Manny to get comparable numbers. So Mayweather now tries to steal Cotto away from Canelo to avoid Pacquiao.

I do agree that the only fight Mayweather should be focusing on is making a Pacquioa fight.

But Cotto is the lineal MW champ of the world, you guys talk down on anyone as long as it can make Mayweather look like a duck.

Come on man, sure he beat the guy who was lineal champ. But Maravilla was a walking corpse. The very average Murray had already beaten him and was cheated on the cards. Calling Cotto the Lineal Champ gives too much undeserved credence and anyone with a fair mind can see that.

Mayweather should just alternate between Maidana and Cotto for the rest of his career while Manny fights Marquez 7 more times.

The only way Canelo gets Cotto is if Mayweather doesnt wanna fight Cotto. If Floyd wants to fight Cotto then Canelo will have to find another foe. Having said that I would rather have Cotto fighting Canelo than Mayweather.
