but this is a big fight were gatti has a legit chance of winning.
If this fight does happen and Gatti does lose it would still be a big pay day for him to go out on IMO.

Like? Cotto is still kind of green and should not be fighting Mayweather. Hatton has not expressed intrest in Cotto, But Cotto has. Hatton's camp has stated, that "fights with Cotto and Mayweather are inevidable and will happen soon enough" but his daddy wants him to have several fights in the US before he fights Mayweather or COtto. Also, Cotto has 26fights not 40. He has the best 26 fight resume in boxing. Give the guy credit for fighting solid opposition.
I give Cotto credit for his resume but he is fighting similar opposition. Guys who struggle against champions. To answer your question other than Hatton and Mayweather he could fight: Corrales, Castillo, Margarito, I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Joel Julio or even Kermit Cintron. But you never hear anyone mention any of those names. After Maussa got the belt from Harris, he showed interest in a rematch. And this Paul guy why in the hell is he fighting him?

Like what macho stated before, he has only 26 fights, you'll see him fight superstars soon enough lol.

I'd put my money on Gatti in this fight, simply because i think he has more power, can take a huge beating and still come out swinging, and its about time cotto loses. Sure Cotto can box but if he gets in close with Gatti, hes over.

Cotto will crush Gatti box him early and then bust him up.

Cotto busts up Gatti and stops him in the mid-late rounds. He's better at pretty much every facet in the game.

USA, nice sig...Equilibrium was a good movie.

I'll pick Cotto on the fact that he will box gatti to death but if Gatti scores a KO I wouldn't be that surprised.
i completely agreee with you....im at the same point you are...if cotto boxes smart he wins, if he stands in there gets put to sleep

None of these are in Cotto's weight Class. Cotto cannot afford to drop weight, although he may go up to 147. And for the Cotto/Castillo fight, that fight was going to happen after Castillo/Corrales III, it would have been set for June, but the Castillo/Corrales fight was delayed and other plans had to be made.

Gatti couldn't even KO branco for crying out loud
                    GATTI IS A BUM

                    Cotto brawls he wins,
                    Cotto boxes he wins,

Gatti has no chance he is slow, has overrated power because he comes in at 160 and he can't box to save his life.

I wouldn't go to the extent of saying that Gatti is a bum, he is a fighter that has power and has heart, the difference between him and Cotto is that Cotto has TALENT and can box. Gatti brawls, and when someone uses a jab against him, he cant seem to get out of the way. I think that Gatti has a punchers chance, but that chance is slim. Cotto will stop Gatti, he would probably make Gatti's face a mess.
