Instead of Jessie Vargas why isn't Matthysse plan B?

A realistic possibility is Mauricio Herrera. GBP fighter not with Haymon...and he's fighting on Tim Bradley's card on 12/13, HBO.

Herrera has a good fight against a top prospect Benavidez. If he looks good and impresses, he's definitely a possibility.

I'd prefer PAC-Herrera rather than Vargas. At least most people know Herrera beat Garcia.

But Danny Garcia is an Al Haymon fighter too, isn't he? Why would that disqualify Matthysse from a Pacquiao fight but not Swift?

From a financial perspective arum likes in house fights because he doesn't have to share any of the money with another business. I hate it from a fan perspective but really what would you do? Why share a few million when it can just go back to you. All he cares about is money not making fans happy. The good news is crawford is with top rank, so that fight should happen, which is probably the second best fight aside from fighting Floyd.

Because if Arum and Haymon get together to make any fight, it ruins the false narrative they have going right now where they don't want to work together, and people will start wondering why they don't get together to make the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight, which eventually leads to questions why they never got together to do so sooner.

Obviously neither side wants to ruin the con job on the boxing community before a potential Mayweather/Pacquiao fight is made.

You're right, which is the dilemma that Pac is in. All the match-ups I want to see (and the best match-ups to make) involve Haymon fighters. Ideally, Pac will move down to 140 and fight Garcia first. Then he could defend the WBA belt against Vargas, and defend the WBC against Matts/Broner/Postol.

If the Floyd fight doesn't happen, I'm predicting
                Pac-Herrera in April-Vegas
Pac-Vargas or Provodnikov in Nov-Macau. (It'll be Vargas, if he's still the title holder)
                Pac-Crawford in 2016- Vegas

but i can see matthysse soon(hopefully) leaving haymon, seems more like a hiphop crowd

Because Vargas needs a big fight to build him into a star. They may be overreaching with Pac but win or lose, Vargas's stock would still go up. Lucas can't handle anymore set backs. He needs and deserves a title shot.
