They are taking a weird approach with Gustafsson vs Rumble as a title eliminator, when neither guy really needs an eliminator and whoever loses gets sent to the back of the line instead of fighting Jones.

But even though you have situations like that, I still think it beats the 5 year fruitless negotiations in boxing

I don't think MMA is dead but their ppv numbers are down. Boxing will never die.

MMA's biggest mistake. Letting Dana White monopolize the sport creating UFC, there by creating a ceiling on where the sport can go. The sport and fundamentals regarding the game are there. But to me the center most problem is with Dana White entertainment comes first making professionalism and comeptition being less important. They have a dumb downed audience and the whole thing revolves around UFC as a brand. With boxing the sport revolves around he independent fighters paving the way and further influencing younger boxers for generations to come. This day in age the image the MMA fighters display is much more important to Dana White than the dedication of their craft they display. At the end of the day true fans of the UFC want to see dedicated professional athletes, not some spawn of Dana White that is the product of over exaggerated hype.

The UFC is going to go under soon, they rely mainly on females and sex selling gimmicks with these chicks that shows signs of desperation to get viewership. I heard the owners are going to sell the company after their FOX contract expires. I think that is next year or another year or so.

They will go back to just running their billion dollar casinos in Vegas.

They will probably get some rich Foreigner to buy it out and than it fizzles out in a year or so, but they will at least get a profit they bought that company for a million bucks or so, and will probably sell it for 500 million depending on if they can get a sucker to buy it.

I like MMA, but it's funny how mma fans loved throwing out the "Boxing is dead, UFC is the future" (some of them still do) and now they're not doing so hot.
