My guess is, after the Marquez near death experience, with wife at ring side, the wife says: you have 5 kids, mind your damn life!

Aside from not wanting to repeat the same mistake again, I imagine that this is part of it.

        rios was surprising.

guess he didn't want to end up like marg.

Fast forward to Algieri and he gained some of that old pacman stuff. Also had to do with being lighter though.
From the top of my head Pacquiao won 1,2 then got dropped in the 3rd, thought he won 4,5 and was winning 6 before the KO. I thought the right hand he landed on Marquez that hurt him bad was one of the hardest shots he's landed on Marquez in all the fights. If he would have landed that earlier in the round he might have knocked out Marquez.

I'll have to rewatch the fight but I thought he looked very good that night.

No doubt he looked good, but I'm talking about his speed, reflexes, agility, everything. He looked slow as crap compared to old Manny.

That's the first time where I thought damn he looks way slower than normal. Even the first Bradley fight I thought he looked slower, but not that slow.

JMM being just as past prime helped Pacquiao to look spectacular before the KO. And JMM was just waiting for the one shot too, so it helped Pac zip around him.

Marg didn't do sht...Pac was going hard on Marquez before Marquez landed the counter. He's a little more cautious but he did try to ko Algieri

Margarito landed that DEVASTATING body shot on Pac in the six round. You could see pac cringe from that shot, but like a warrior he came back and beat the **** out margarito. Sadly he was never the same after that fight doh, I chalk it up to age.

Honestly there were times even against Margarito and Cotto where I thought Manny pulled it back because he'd done so much damage he was worried he was going to kill the guys.

Agreed.. Margs landed some crushing body shots and somehow Manny somehow powered through it.

Ever since that fight PAC has been carrying guys. He only goes full Manny when he feels the other guy poses a real threat. Hence his performance in the 4th Marquez fight..

and that "touching the gloves thing" at Shane and algieri fight also reduce his animal instinct. i thnnk Algieri know this and use it to his advantage vs manny
Actually, Algieri kept touching Manny gloves because he was stepping on his foot. Algieri touched gloves with Manny as a gesture that it was accidental
