Exercising is good for any age, it's healthy. I doubt a 41-42 year old's legs are giving out on him due to old age for working out and staying in shape. His knee injury sounds like it could have happened to any athlete. Look at all the NBA/MLB players in their 20s who suffer career threatening knee injuries. Although he was in his early 30s already, Ken Griffey Jr's 2001-2004 knee injuries basically cost the last years of his prime and also possibly being #1 in home runs, all time. In the very least surpassing Hank Aaron.
