also, Manny getting starched by JMM also has to play into effect, with him taking a more defensive approach.

but back to the "catch weights" one of the things pacquiao had going for him, when he fought the bigger fighters, is they had a rehydrate clause that only allowed his opponent to rehydrate up to a certain weight, usually something to the tune of no more than 9lbs.

I remember that was the deal with cotto and cotto was emaciated, same with de la hoya, and I am sure that practice happened against everyone that was a "catch weight" victim.

in every single one of those fights, all those fighters agreed to the terms. again, almost all fights are won in the negotiations of the fight. pacquiao's career is no exception. he has been very well managed.

that is something Sr., Jr. and Uncle, all detractors, never factor in.
Cotto emaciated? Watch the post fight interview and see what Cotto said about weight. He had no weight issues and made no excuses.

Hatton didn't have a hydrate clause and he got knocked cold.

Mosley didn't either and he got droped so bad he was begging ****m to stop the fight.

Marquez had no hydrate clause and he got dropped and hurt in the 4th.

Margarito came in at 17 lbs heavier at fight night and he got beaten. Pac eased off in the last 3 rounds. He could have permanently damaged margaritos eye to get the KO but hes not that kind of guy.

Algieri was still getting up at 10 in the 9th round, after a long 10 count.

Name another former flyweight whos hurt 140 to 147 lbers.

Now lets look at Floyds fights. He balloons marquez from 135 to 142 and still fails to make weight but still fails to stop him. He fights Maidana who got dropped at 140 by khan and struggles past josesito lopez and floyd looks ordinary. Floyd fights Guerero, who recently came up and failed to hurt him at all. He drains Canelo to 152 and still refused to engage. Never faced martinez or responded to ggg challenge at 154 though he can easily fight at that weight.

Talk about a well managed career, look at Floyd. He fights only B level fighters at 147. The good ones that he fought we severly weight disadvantaged and the last ko he had in many years was a cheap shot.

    • there was never a rehydrate clause in any pac fight.

These clowns are complete jokes....."We won't fight him because he's on stuff!!!" A couple of years pass by and "We won't fight him because he isn't KOing guys anymore!"
At what point does he say "we won't fight him because he isn't KO'ing guys anymore"

You literally, and I mean literally, just made that quote up.

You actually put quotation marks on a completely made up quote.

Before that manny was kicking his ass with head movement and punches from all angles and was ahead on all the judges scorecards.

Hate to break it to you but Floyd is not God he is beatable. Floyd has been very good at picking the right opponents with very low risk and he has even admitted it by saying it's not about working harder it's about working smarter. He could have picked khan over maidana but he didn't because he didn't want to deal with khan's hand speed he totally could kick Amir's ass but instead he picked the easier fight and picked maidana and that ish almost backfired on him because maidana came in there not giving a damn throwing everything he could at him.

Manny has not ducked anyone he fights anyone they put in front of him and does so with respect to his opponent and with dignity, a true warrior so I hope this fight happens and we will all see a defensive genius in Floyd go up against the best offensive fighter in this generation.
