Comments Thread For: Stevenson Praises Kovalev, No Interest in Hopkins

BoxingScene.com recently caught up with WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (24-1-1) who is currently in training camp for his December 19th battle against Dmitry Sukhotsky (22-2).

Over the past year Stevenson has been linked with Sergey Kovalev, who recently defeated future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins to add the WBA and IBF titles to go along with his WBO strap.

In fairness to Hopkins, he said he was moving down to challenge a champion so why Stevenson has to come out and state this is beyond me. Nice he praised Kovalev for a perfectly carried out strategy.

Stevenson needs to step up sooner or later, this fight could be damn near a superfight. Beat whoever the hell he's fighting next, fight Pascal in Canada and then Kovalev in late 2015 would be sweet.

I still can't get over his epic fail, thinking he could fight BHOP to get 3 of the 4 belts and then leave poor little Sergey with the WBO. Didn't turn out to well....

I wish Kovalev - Stevenson would be the undercard of Mayweather - Pacquiao.
