From the early part of Ali's career to the very end, time and again Ali received favorable treatment by referee and judges which no other fighter I've ever followed has received.
This. Ali is probably the most lucky HW champ of all times. Luck + Mouth (+ a possible poisoning of Foreman) are the backbone of Ali's fame.
Other than that: Ali's era was one of the worst. Probably only Marciano's was worse.
