That fight does need to marinate, like if there was a Boxing Promotion's for Dummies book this exact situation would be described when talking a fight to build up.

Lomachenko good looking young kid who doesn't have the most scintillating style but is an excellent boxer. However, he only has 4 fights so h needs to beat up a bunch of guys. Realistically he should be on the bum of the month plan as long as he can get on TV.

Walter is a Jamaican dude with a cool accent and a fan pleasing style. He just burst onto the scene so people need to get more familiar with him. He could go on the bum of the month plan also but beating 2 solid guys should be enough especially if Gonzalez is one of them.

I want to see those two guys meet for all the marbles, if they can't get to that point it wasn't worth that much anyway~

I say just let them fight already, sometimes marinating these fights too long can end in disaster (see Gamboa VS Lopez). We could have said that Loma/Gary Russell and Walters/Donaire needed some "marinating," had them all fight Salka-level opponents, and we'd be here wondering when we'll get a decent fight. Let them fight right now, if they're good enough the loser will bounce back (Loma already proved he can) and it not then let the winner further take out the division. This is not a fight that can ever be considered a super fight worth millions of dollars so no point in holding them back from each other. I'd love to see Walters/Gonzalez and Loma/Gradovich, with hopefully Walters and Loma coming on top to make the fight happen in the summer of 2015.

The most overrated sentiment in boxing is when someone says: "The fight needs time to build".

It is nonsensical as nonsensical gets.

Nope. Walters himself said he doesn't wanna fight. Here its loma's manager who said it not loma himself. Also there's another article where loma said where he wants to fight walters

How many people even are aware these dudes exists? Not many

Getting everyone or as many people to believe as possible these are the two best guys should be accomplished before they fight because the fight means that much more. Going forward it helps that much more, right now who cares what does it really do for either man, same as beating anyone else really~.

Arum already said in an interview that Walter's and Loma would have tune-up fights first in the beginning of 2015 then fight each other in early summer... Now, either that's still the plan or they're trying to push it back even further... It's sad when a fighter can't lose to another great fighter because it might hurt their marketability

Im kind of dissapointed with the managers words even thought Loma said after the fight he wants to fight Walters, I still think the fight happens like i said it would the fight on the same card in Early spring and than fight each other on the canelo-cotto undercard.

How does it mean much more, honestly? Who are they going to beat to turn this into some mega fight? You state that not many people are aware these two exist, outside of the boxing world I presume, but these guys aren't going to turn into Pacquiao or Mayweather anytime soon in terms of draw power. The fight is as good as it's going to get right now or for their next fight. This is the mentality that's holding back boxing and why we had such a shitty year in 2014, to much inactivity and too many filler fights for the top guys.
