It's not like Wladimir isn't still capable of doing 3 fights a year (like in 2012). Jennings, Fury/Chisora and Wilder/Stiverne sounds a true champion's work to me.

Wlad has a history of fighting the level of least resistance. Those are just facts. If he is forced, he'll fight his mandatory, but his main ambition now is probably WBC belt which means he could drop one of the other belts if they are pushing for a mandatory.

But if he fights Jennings + Fury/Chisora + Stiverne/Wilder in one year, much respect.

I like Jennings, but I don't see him being effective against Wlad. Jennings's waiting out for the Steiverne/Wilder fight is killing me, dude should've had another fight during this bs stalling period that Haymon's thrown out there.

Pay Wilder to step a side and fight Stiverne, rematch Povetkin, fight Fury if he beats Chisora is how it should be whilst Jennings gets another fight in, a real test like Takam!

It would do a lot more for both rather than fighting a very raw & inexperienced Jennings.

Unfortunately you're right on all counts. It became a downright chore for him to finally step in the ring with Pulev, and I don't doubt that he was delaying that for as long as possible. Eventually we saw those reasons transpire in the ring, in that Pulev wasn't taking any shit from the opening bell.

Also, whilst I brought up 2012 as a busy year for Wladimir, it wasn't exactly loaded with great opposition - a shot Mormeck, an OK Thompson II and Wach the useless punching bag - they're all powerpuffs compared to a potential Jennings-Fury-Wilder schedule.

Umm, Jennings is basically a cruiserweight. Wladimir should fight someone his own size. That's a 2 rounder!

It's by no means a great fight, but in fairness to Jennings I think it's hard to compare him with guys like Leapai, Thompson, Mormeck, Pianeta, Wach etc. Only Pulev is better or equal to Jennings. At least Jennings is kind of quick and fought Mike Perez, which many people felt he lost I suppose. Mike Perez isn't really good anyway.

But it all depends on how he would follow that fight up.

2012 was absolutely horrendous. Embarrassing opposition for a heavyweight champion. 2013 equally, but at least he fought Povetkin - in a fight most people would rather not have watched.

It's clear that he's not going to fight someone like Fury as a voluntary, at least I can't see it happening. He's better equipped to fight someone like Pulev who sticks his chin in the air and literally stands right in front of him with no defence and feet planted in cement.

I didn't call him slick, but he's got very good footwork for a guy who's 6'9 or compared to any of today's heavyweights really and certainly Pulev who doesn't move his feet during a fight.
