I really hope Arum isn't going into this thinking he's running things. There is an A side and a B side in this promotion and whether Arum likes it or not, the B side promoter doesn't control things. With that said, there has to be some give and take on both sides.

I've seen that posted on here as well (regarding the need to surpass 1million buys). I guess the theory stems from the fact that Floyd gets higher guarantee per fight guarantees in the range of $32 million to as has as $40+ million for the Cotto fight.

I've also read, that for the Maidana fights, Floyd got no upside on PPV buys beyond his guaranteed purse...limited payout. I believe these reports are true.
To be guaranteed $32+ million requires higher PPV buy rates to be profitable.

I can see what will play out already. Arum goes in thinking he will be able to get Leslie Moonves to agree to his terms. Moonves will say he wants to talk to his people who handle boxing as well as the relevant parties on his side. Arum blows a gasket, withdraws from negotiations, and declares the fight off.

Doesnt matter. I dont think they are making money from floyd, only the canelo fight. Thats it. Theres a reason why showtime is not showing ppv numbers.

PAC's relationship with Arum has nothing to do with Floyd. PAC has been dealing with Arum for years and is happy with the relationship. Floyd cannot dictate to others especially another A side type fighter.

There's a reason why Arum exists. There are benefits working with a promoter, guaranteed money (20+ million per fight) among other things. PAC is also busy outside of boxing so being a free agent isn't ideal. Cotto doesn't make nearly as much, 1-6 million per fight depending on opponent.

As a sports athlete, they look for SECURITY financially. Same thing in all sports MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL... Most look for longer term contracts and/or higher salary per year average. Mayweather signed an exclusive deal with Showtime similarly. You need to understand the business of sports.

im far away from saying pac made the wrong choice coz im nowhere near inform enough to make such a statement. all im saying is that pacman made a choice and becoz of his choice the fight will not happen. is it fair of mayweather to ask pac to leave his promoter ? hell no ! is life always fair ? hell no ! does pacquiao promoter force people to sign with his company to fight against pac ala Bradley for exemple ? yes he does ! is that fair ? hell no ! boxing has nothing to do with nfl nba etc... boxing is about power he who has the biggest muscle dictates and its always been that way Don king and Arum are the 1st people responsable for that so i dont feel sorry at all for them coz they are the one who started this bull**** in the first place. arum wants the mayweather fight now...he's convinced that pac can really defeat floyd after his boy dominated a "master boxer" LOL ....obviously this is their plan..they waited so long to get an old floyd to fight..very nice..just like what they did to shane mosley..

how so? Floyds movement the the shoulder roll doesnt require him to move around alot. As in for pac, he moves around ALOT and throws constant punches. So who would actually benefit from someone getting "older"?
