and why wouldn't cbs/showtime allow any of those fights? floyd-khan (especially in UK)does crazy numbers.. floyd vs "much improved" cotto rematch would also cash in.. and a canelo rematch (regardless how lopsided first fight was) would break more records.. floyd has many paths he can take.. manny is on a dead end street cuz he resigned with arum.Comment

negative!!! floyd is his own boss being told to shut that mouth up? LOLComment

I hope this is the case man, lot of pressure on Floyd from quite a few different angles at the moment so hopefully he has been advised to stay put while people talk and not staying quiet in a 'shut your eyes and pretend its not happening' kind of way.
We will see eventually, one way or another time will tell fans the real deal behind these two not fighting and in the end history will make its mind up.Comment

Mayweather pays Arum the $10m (allegedly, since it hasn't been corroborated by any of the princples), Top Rank lets Pacquiao free to take the fight, and Mayweather Promotions becomes the lead promoter of the event, dictating the event's terms, with Top Rank doing no more than coming on the ride (maybe getting one of their fighters onto the undercard).
Arum gets a little bit of money, but Mayweaher gets to put on the fight in the way that he sees fit. Chalk up the $10m to the costs associated with securing the event.
Arum gets the $10m, whatever his take is off of Pacquiao, and keeps it moving.Comment

The Showtime/CBS deal wasn't made to "cash in on Mayweather"; it was made to establish Showtime as the premier outlet for boxing, which the deal has seemingly done (barring the Schaeffer/ODLH fiasco).
Going off of what information that's been made public, it looks like 1.5m PPV buys over the next two event will end up with Showtime/CBS making money off of the Mayweather deal.
Everything else that Mayweather brought to the table (7m more homes carrying Showtime, the budding stars 140-154 fighting on Showtime, possibly having the next American heavyweight star fighting on Showtime, etc) is just extra.Comment

---900+ PPV vs Maidana

---nearly 9 million homes got Showtime this year
The Showtime/Mayweather deal was a huge success for them.Comment
