The problem is there are very few names for Pacquiao if Haymon won't play ball. Makes for an easy run for Manny, but it sucks for everyone else.

These are the top names at 147:

    Floyd
    Bradley
    Marquez
    Maidana
    Thurman
    Porter
    Devon
    Khan
    Guerrero

And these are the top names at 140:

    Danny
    Lucas
    Herrera
    Algieri
    Ruslan
    Alvarado
    Vargas
    Khabib
    Postol

How many of these can Pac fight? Bradley and JMM are the best there outside of Floyd, and he's already had six fights with them. Marquez doesn't seem to want a seventh.

At 140? Danny and Lucas are probably the standouts. But Danny and Lucas are with Al.

There isn't much to work with.

Very un ****ing acceptable!!! Honestly, nothing against PAC but if he's not fighting Floyd, I'm done with him. I would watch PAC vs Danny but aside from that, anybody else being mentioned is not worth my time.

Vargas got some skills, that is a tough sell though especially for a PPV Event, then again they just put Algeiri on PPV so...

If Pac fought three times a year, guys like Rios/Algeri/Vargas wouldn't be an issue. The problem is that he's only fighting twice a year on PPV. He barely took any punishment against Rios/Algeri, and Vargas sure as hell isn't going to hurt him. Vargas will need a miracle to make it to the final bell.

            Floyd - won't fight pac
            Bradley - already beat him
            Marquez - won't fight pac
Maidana - with haymon, coming off a loss, no world title, ranked at the bottom of 147, floyd fans will say pac is fighting another floyd left over, etc.
Thurman - with haymon, hasn't won a big fight yet, not a world champion
Porter - with haymon, coming off a loss
Devon - with haymon, bradley left over, mediocre fight imo
Khan - with haymon, hasn't been relevant since getting KO'ed against danny
Guerrero - worse fight than rios

Danny - with haymon, should have lost to herrera, coming off a completely shameful and mediocre win against #77 ranked salka
Lucas - with haymon, hasn't done anything of note since losing to danny, still pursuing danny rematch
Herrera - should be the #1 jr. welterweight but was robbed against danny in puerto rico
            Algieri - already beat him
Ruslan - coming off a loss, will be fighting castillo (smh), is with roach
Alvarado - coming off a loss, will most likely lose to rios again
            Vargas - mediocre fighter
            Khabib - meh
Postol - good fighter, but he's with roach, hasn't done anything big/relevant

therefore pac vs herrera (the real #1 jr welterweight) is the best and available option from 140-147

crawford will be moving up after beltran so he's another very good opponent.

crawford if he beats beltran will without a doubt be the #1 at lightweight and will be coming off some very good wins. plus he's big enough to make the jump to 140. crawford also was a very good amateur fighter (he beat mikey garcia and danny garcia in the amateurs).

crawford is without a doubt one of the best young fighters in boxing today.
Without a doubt. At 140, it's a very good fight. Crawford will be the bigger man as well.

crawford is the #1 in his division, undefeated world champion, beat danny and mikey in the amateurs.
I'm pretty sure he meant the potential Vargas fight.

And he's right, that would be embarrassing. Vargas keeps going life and death with opponents Khan would get panned for even thinking of fighting.

I just read that interview with Pacquiao's lawyer and I'm wondering wtf is going on. Last week, Pacquiao said he didn't choose Algieri, they just told him who he was fighting. Now his lawyer's complaining that Koncz didn't allow him to review the new contract Manny signed with TR? Wtf? I'm wondering why in the world didn't Manny become a free agent? He could have easily worked with Arum if he wanted or made the Mayweather fight. At worse, he'd have Khan, Garcia, Maidana, etc. available to him. Rios was unacceptable. So was Algieri. Comparing it to Maidana's and Guerrero's is lame because Rios and Algieri are a rung or two below. Territory a fighter like Manny shouldn't be in. He should have never re-signed with Arum.

manny will get a pass for whatever he does. i mean he just charged $75 for a sparring session with chris algieri and the front runner for his next fight is vargas based on everythig said last night and in the weeks leading up to this fight. and people are still talking about floyd as if its his fault. its mind boggling but hey, thats what it is.
