  • Comments Thread For: Roach: If No Mayweather, Danny Garcia is Perfect

Macau, China - Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach was "disappointed" with the performance of Chris Algieri on Saturday night. Roach's main fighter, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, dropped Algieri six times to win a dominating twelve round unanimous decision. It was one of the most lopsided decisions in a pay-per-view main event. Pacquiao was ahead by 18 points on one card (120-102) and 16 points on the remaining two tallies (119-103).

Algieri, although undefeated and the WBO champion at 140-pounds, has only 8 knockouts to his record and frustration grew as he was unable to hurt Pacquiao with his best punches.

He is fighting Vargas next. They do this all of the time. I hope it is Garcia so he can do better PPV numbers and build up a Mayweather fight later in the year. Floyd should fight Cotto next. Both fights could be at catch weights 145, and 155.

Oscar already is on record saying that Haymon would not have a problem making this fight, and if the cold war is really over than it should be negotiated at the very least. Let Canelo fight GGG. If those 3 fights happen it will already be one of the best years in boxing. We could also expect Chavez Jr. vs Froch, Pascal vs Stevenson, or Kovalev, Khan vs Brook, Mares vs Santa Cruz.

If there is no floyd then I'd rather see pac fight the real #1 140lber - Mauricio herrera

Or fight Terence Crawford if he beats beltran.

If they can make the Garcia fight, why can't they make the Mayweather fight?

All those fights you mentioned got me excited lol. Except the Vargas/Pacquiao fight. If that happens I'll be really upset but I'm positive it won't.

I agree. Would love to see it. Garcia deserves a shot against the big two. I don't know if he'll still be able to make junior welter by then but anything between 140-147 is fine with me. I don't see how anyone can knock this fight.

Because Garcia won't low ball him and keep putting up road block after road block.

If no Mayweather just retire. There's nothing more to see and this works for Floyd too.

Sure, make it happen. Lets see if the GARSH will be enough for Garcia to win.

                    Exactly... enough BS.

Every fight these two have had since 2009 has been pointless, they've milked the hype.
