Echo Arena, Liverpool, Merseyside - With the WBC International super middleweight title at stake, Callum Smith (15-0, 11KOs) went the twelve round distance for the first time with a unanimous decision win over his toughest opponent to date, Nikola Sjekloca (28-3, 8KOs). The scores were 118-111, 120-108, 118-110. Smith had some bumps in the road during the contest, but he hurt Sjekloca in the fourth with a bodyshot and then outboxed, outworked him to the final bell.
