  • Comments Thread For: Haymon Will Allow Pacquiao-Garcia Bout, Says Roach

Macau, China - It's no secret that trainer Freddie Roach would love to get Danny Garcia in the ring with Manny Pacquiao (29-0, 17KOs).

The Filipino superstar is back in action tomorrow night, when he defends his WBO welterweight title against Chris Algieri, who holds the WBO world title at 140-pounds. Their fight is taking place at a catch-weight of 144-pounds.

If Pacquiao feels good in the Algieri fight, he will likely move down in weight to 140-pounds. Garcia, who holds the WBC/WBA titles at junior welterweight, is Roach's opponent of choice for Pacquiao's first fight back at 140.

Bad match up, Garcia will knock Pacman out with that loaded left hook. Pac cannot hurt Garcia at all, only shot he has is to swell Garcia eye up and make Garcia lose sight so he doesnt commit to his power hook.

Gotta say I completely disagree. Garcia has struggled with any top 10 opponent he has faced (including some gift decisions against journeymen) but he knocks out Pacquiao? LOL

Arum says he hasn't spoken to Haymon in years. Said it last week. So we know what you think doesn't matter, Freddie.

Garcia throws a "no-look" hook so a swollen eye wouldn't neutralize the threat of being caught with that sht!

And Pacquiao gets hit by those wide winging hooks, look at the Marquez punch that dropped him the first time, it was launched way out from orbit and he still couldn't avoid it and got dropped.

Would you be confident in a jab KO? Algieri has a lot less power than Garcia so maybe Garcia has a bigger chance to KO Pac via jab?
