I'm interested to know If you checked to see the level of competition Mayweather faced before that fight and the level of competition before he fought Cotto. Hmmmmmm ima go out on a limb and say no.

This is the trend Cotto fanboys cant seem to get a grasp on. Being recognized as the "lineal'' champion is a joke in itself. Canelo will put to rest any ideas of Cotto being "back", if and when the cherrypicker takes the fight.

Cotto is the biggest joke as a champion, specifically MW that I have ever seen. Pac would still kick his ass. All day every day. Over and over and over. Pound the piss out of him.

You are a dumb ass hater!!!, sounds like a bit...ch.., Miguel Cotto has been one of the most entertaining fighters in the last 10 years. Yes he loose against Many, Floyd, Trout, and Margaro. But a least he has been facing everyone, every time he fights is a 12 rounds of good action. Paquiao face him in a catch weight of 145 pounds with a clause that doesn't allow Cotto to go over 150 pounds. Mayweather-Cotto 2 would be important for Mayweather from a historical perspective. He would attempt to become the first boxer to win the lineal championship in 5 weight classes and the third boxer to win a championship in 6 weight divisions.

The first fight was entertaining and is Mayweather's third highest selling fight. This is much better than the Khan and Danny Garcia fights. Since the best option, Pacquiao, will never happen, this is the second best option.

Floyd already clearly beat Cotto while trying to make an entertaining fight out of it. He'd beat him even easier in a rematch just like he did Maidana. In fact, the only reason Floyd wants this rematch is to keep the May date away from Canelo and get back over a million ppv buys.

Interesting thing is Cotto is the one in the driver's seat this time. He shouldn't accept anything less than at least a 60/40 split as well as the gloves and weight of his choice. Cotto has all the leverage in these negotiations with either Floyd or Canelo.

You know, I was quick to dismiss the possibility of Cotto-Mayweather 2, but given the scramble for securing May, that would make perfect sense. Mayweather cannot fight ANYONE at this moment that would break 1M PPV buys unless it's Pacquiao, MAYBE Khan but I doubt it. It's either Cotto or Pacquiao. Canelo would sell as well, but given he fought him so recently (and the fight wasn't competitive...AND Canelo hasn't exactly bounced back with the best opposition/performances), that's not an option.

It's either Pacquiao, Cotto, or Khan in a [very] distant third at this point.
