  • Would a Eubank Jr win be better for boxing?

I've seen pretty much all of both Chris Eubank Jr and Billy Joe Saunder's fights - and whilst BJS should be regarded as the favourite and the more polished fighter at the moment, I feel like he's approaching his peak.

He's a fringe world/european level contender at best, and let's face it, he can't really crack an egg. He's like an Amir Khan without the snap in his punches and with a bigger mouth (could you believe it). Even though he gives some of the best interviews you could ever hope to see, only surpassed by Tyson Fury.

I feel Chris Eubank jr has more potential. He hasn't fought anybody good yet, but he's a character in the ring and the whole side show with his dad is hilarious. At least I think so.

His dad climbed in the ring last time he was out, and when an official told him to get out because there could only be 1 second, Jr's main trainer stepped out whilst Sr was looking at the official with an arrogant look. Haha.

I feel if Eubank won, he would offer the public more in terms of interest. Even though it's just a myth.

What do you think and who are you hoping for?

I'd like a Saunders win but I also don't mind if Eubank wins.

Neither are important for boxing as a whole but I'm rooting for Eubank Jr. because I find him a more exciting fighter and I think he will win. It's his biggest opportunity yet so he will definitely shine. He has all the tools and support to succeed this time around.

Why not? Surely it would be good to have a young up and coming exciting fighter beating his domestic rival at a young age?

Side note, I meant to vote Eubank of course.

Definitely Eubank would be good for boxing if it turned out he was good, he certainly wants to entertain by sitting down on big shots and going for the KO plus the build up to any big fight now will be hilarious. Imagine him on gloves are off trolling the **** out of a big name fighter.

at first I was rooting for BJS but after that guys disrespect towards a legend I'm calling on Eubank Jr to KO him, although I think BJS wins on points.

                  Whatever the hype surrounding Eubank Jnr is (and most of it IS hype from his father) the facts are;

He has never boxed more than 8 rounds.

He has never faced anything more than average domestic level fighters.

He has no Amateur background (less relevant).

If BJS keeps his head and uses his experience it is his fight to lose.

I can see a scenario unfold where BJS gets a rush of blood and goes for a KO and Eubank drops his but overall Eubank has never faced real pressure from a fighter of BJS caliber.

All this BS about how awesome Eubank looks in his training / sparring makes me wonder how much people actually buy into the hype that surrounds certain fighters. Eubank has achieved nothing of note to date.

It is a test of both men, but in different ways.

Not too bothered who wins but I'm swaying toward Saunders on this one. He's fought 4 undefeated fighters in a row, and as of now I think he is well equipped to deal with the likes of Jr.
