I would put that fight in the past. Avenging your loss is great but fans know that Lomachenko was way too small on fight night, and Salido came in overweight. Also, it was just one of those justice served type of wins. Vets like Salido can't just let these successful Olympic fighters think they can come in to the pro world and get an undeserved title shot. I think Loma proved himself against Russell. He should leave Salido in the past.
I think Lomachenko would likely win a rematch down the line. An overweight Salido pulled out all the stops in the first fight and only just got it done.
I think it'd be a great fight the second time around. Even though Salido came in overweight he was clearly drained and unable to get going. Salido looks comfortable at 130. And Lomachenko will know what to expect and be able to make adjustments in a rematch. In a rematch Salido won't be struggling to make it to the finish line like the first fight though, he'll get stronger as the fight goes on like he normally does.
Yeah, would like to see it. Would be more of a fair fight and it would be good for Loma to get that revenge, seeing as avenging defeats makes a big difference - especially on this forum it seems - to a fighter's resume.
UD Vasya or maybe a late stoppage, depending on if he carries some more power at the higher weight.
