As an amateur he represented England and Ireland in the super-heavyweight division while still very young and was never stopped, so I don't think his chin can be all that bad.
Having said that, the power Wlad showed against Pulev, who definitely does not have a weak chin, was scary. No heavyweight in the world could withstand punches like that, however good their chin was.Comment

Not here. Crawford moved ahead of Vazquez after the Gamboa win. As to Beltran, his recent run dating to the Lundy win is much more impressive than Bey winning a debatable decision over MV and not much else. And it's not just BoxingScene. Crawford-Beltran is 1-2 at Ring, TBRB, and ESPN.Except Bey didn't win. And sure as hell isn't anywhere near as good as the Crawford/Beltran winner. Beltran did beat the hell out of Ricky Burns, which is better than anything Bey's done.
It's absurd to think Mickey Bey is anywhere near the conversation for best LW.Comment

So you choose to ignore whether fights are robberies or not? What exactly is the point of that? You have to ignore not 1, but 2 terrible decisions to make any case for Bey as a top lightweight.Comment

it was hardly a robbery, it was close. but lets go with what you say, its a robbery, as ive already stated, you cant rank beltran above vazquez, so how is crawford v beltran, in the eyes of boxingscene the fight for the LW championship?Comment

So what do it matterComment

There's no room anywhere for a mediocre fighter like Mickey Bey. He'd get wrecked by either of those two.Comment

Maybe you can't rank Beltran above Vazquez. I can see why you would say that. But the main reason the Crawford/Beltran winner will easily be the best LW in the world is because of Crawford. We all know he's the best LW in the world, and if Beltran beats him he'll clearly be the best LW in the world. There shouldn't be any argument from anyone else.

for arguments sake, lets get rid of bey, in boxing, if there is no clear champion, a fight between no. 1 and 2 or 3 defines the champion, beltran is not a top 3 guy.
the only reason beltran has been elevated to that position is so once crawford beats him, we can have an american champion, with some marketability and the hope of being the next big star. boxingscene should not affiliate itself with such bias.Comment

It's almost certain Francisco Rodriguez is done at Miniweight
So I wouldn't consider him in the division anymore even if it's merely a technicality at this pointComment
