Comments Thread For: Roach: Algieri Can't Break an Egg, He is Very Hittable!

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is not concerned with the height advantage of undefeated WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri, who challenges Roach's superstar boxer Manny Pacquiao for the WBO welterweight title on Saturday night at the Venetian in Macau, China. HBO Pay-Per-View will carry the fight.

Roach feels Pacquiao will certainly be able to land punches on Algieri and he'll be able to land often. And Roach is not exactly concerned with the punches Algieri will be throwing return. Algieri is a good boxer, but only has eight knockouts in his 20 wins as a pro. Pacquiao himself has not registered a knockout since a stoppage win of Miguel Cotto in 2009, and Roach wants him to end Algieri inside the distance.

Roach's "trash talking" always makes Pac look bad, lol.

Algieri is annoying, I hope Pacquiao knocks him out in the first round.

I just finished watching Dwight Qwai (5' 5.5") (71" reach) vs George Foreman (6' 3.5") (78.5"reach), and if you want to see how a shorter fighter with far shorter arms can offset his larger opponent (for a good part of the fight), then watch this video.

If that's the case, then why take the fight in the first place? How does this fight enhance Pacquiao's legacy?

I like that Pac is moving down in weight, but there were better options than this fight... even the Broner fight would be more interesting...

This'll be the first Pac fight I do not pay for on PPV...
