Your final example is actually evidence for my claim. The reluctance to acknowledge Lewis' greatness was because he wasn't American.
I think that's extremely far fetched. Am I saying americans wouldn't find him more interesting if Klitschko was American? No. Of course they would, you like your own.

But you'd be interested to know that Klitschko is also criticized in Germany. Many of the German boxing fans think he's boring too - sometimes they give tickets away for free because they can't sell them. In fact, I was on the (un)lucky of that against Tony Thompson in the second fight, although it was in switzerland.

He's not a fighter that captures the public imagination whichever you wish to put it. You can put that down to whatever you'd like, but that's how it is.

Also, I'm not from America so how come I don't find him particularly entertaining? I couldn't care less if the heavyweight champ was white, black, yellow, brown or purple with pink dots. He could be from Britain, America, China, Ukraine or the moon for all I care.

Pulev was a great opponent for Wladimir. Wladimir simply applied the same signature technique he always does. He punishes every move the opponent makes until they are charmed like Cobras into not moving much. And then he knocks them out.

Text book stuff. And Pulev certainly had moments too! Which is admirable!

The HW division now is stacked.

In fact there has scarcely been a time where it has been more stacked with such dangerous opposition.

Sour g****s this is simply because Wladimir is able to dominate one of the strongest HW eras of all time!

This thread is a hate crime.

What exactly do you consider stacked?

Stacked was Holmes Foreman Holyfield Tyson Bowe Ruddock Golotta

Who the **** does the division have now? I'm in need of a good laugh.

I'm not saying all criticism of Wlad Klitschko is due to prejudice. I'm saying a sizable portion of it is when it comes to evaluating his qualities as a fighter and his career and place in history.

He still sells a lot of tickets in Germany and makes a lot of money.

I'm not talking about whether you or anyone else enjoys his fights or not, that is a matter of taste. I'm talking about giving credit where it is due. All the claims about him not being very good and that his opponents are all terrible, all of that smells of prejudice.

Aren't people in agreement that Wlad is very good, but most of his opposition simply isn't?

                    Wladimir Klitschko
                    Kubrat Pulev
                    Alexander Povetkin
                    Bermane Stiverne
                    Chris Arreola

                    Deontay Wilder
                    Bryant Jennings
                    Mike Perez
                    Tyson Fury
                    Dereck Chisora
                    Carlos Takam
                    Tony Thompson
                    Anthony Joshua
                    and more

That is very comparable with the 90's division which was also stacked.

there was plenty of different nationalities in the 90s and the division was undoubtedly better than it is now. Only a complete nuthugger would disagree.
