Your final example is actually evidence for my claim. The reluctance to acknowledge Lewis' greatness was because he wasn't American.

But you'd be interested to know that Klitschko is also criticized in Germany. Many of the German boxing fans think he's boring too - sometimes they give tickets away for free because they can't sell them. In fact, I was on the (un)lucky of that against Tony Thompson in the second fight, although it was in switzerland.

He's not a fighter that captures the public imagination whichever you wish to put it. You can put that down to whatever you'd like, but that's how it is.

Also, I'm not from America so how come I don't find him particularly entertaining? I couldn't care less if the heavyweight champ was white, black, yellow, brown or purple with pink dots. He could be from Britain, America, China, Ukraine or the moon for all I care.

it sounds like people are pissed because they think klitsch is holding the hw belt hostage. i think the general consensus is america is the best and all other countries is second rate in terms of money and fame. maybe its true but surely it doesnt have to be. maybe on some boxing forum in russia or england, people are mad because so and so only fight in oakland or vegas or new york or whatever. just chalk it up to haters be hatin.

Pulev was a great opponent for Wladimir. Wladimir simply applied the same signature technique he always does. He punishes every move the opponent makes until they are charmed like Cobras into not moving much. And then he knocks them out.

Text book stuff. And Pulev certainly had moments too! Which is admirable!
