    There can be no doubt.

Anyone who has seen Lyle vs Foreman can see immediately that they are both too slow and raw to ever compete with Pulev.

    Could they hit harder?

Well I don't know. It's open to interpretation,

Common sense says he hit harder than Lyle.

Foreman wound his punches right up in a way that would not be acceptable today against decent opponents. So maybe he hit harder.

    One thing is clear.

Pulev's 11 KO's out of 20 is not representative of his power when viewed against ancient boxers like Lyle and Foreman.

Lyle and Foreman have high "nostalgic" ratios, based largely on KOing Cruiserweights and bums.

Pulev is not allowed to face those kinds of bums (only early in his career like all boxers do).

Pulev is not allowed to KO Cruiserweights.

Therefore it must be understood that if Lyle and Foreman boxed today against the much higher quality/calibre of opposition they would have far lower ratios and Pulev if he was able to face such bummy+light opposition would have far higher.

THIS^^^ is what complicates the issue!
Didn't you just call foreman the best hw of the 70s, yet he'd lose to that robot pulev?

As for this, I don't see how getting ko'd by tyson or foreman means wlad is a bum. They're two of the biggest punchers ever.

I think it has more to do with the fact that heavyweights hit like a sledgehammer, rather than their chins being awful. I've been punched by a man weighing 240 and he literally knocked me off my feet. I was able to get up, but the amount of power behind these punches are unreal and dwarf anything that's thrown in the lighter weights.

Yeah I agree with your bottom statement.

As for the top, yeah I do think Foreman was the best boxer of the 70's.

I also think that Pulev would have basically knocked every single HW of the 70's out. Foreman is about the ONLY fighter of the 70's I could see posing some problems.

Then again, Foreman was very slow and very uncoordinated. That's ok for Foreman because his opponents were so piss weak but Foreman never once in the 70's ever fought a 6'4" 240lb opponent with a clean win record against a heavier and much better class of opposition than himself.

Haha that bold part is gold. Foreman of the 70s was much more coordinated and quicker than his fat, slow, 90s version. I'm highly amused hat you legitimately think pulev would beat him. Green k lol

Lyle would pummel the slow Poolev, dance circles around him with absolute ease. Poolev is way too slow and static to trouble a guy like Lyle. Anybody who's ever watched Lyle fight would agree, but since you haven't it's ok.
I dunno who would win. Foreman is a naturally larger man than Mormeck and I think he hits harder.

But, considering 70's Foreman alone, Mormeck would have been the strongest, most athletic, most skilled and, being only 1 lb lighter than prime Foreman, among the HEAVIEST opponents he ever faced. AND would have had among the best records too and a multiple world champ.

If Foreman or Ali fought Mormeck and WON, Mormeck would have been lauded as one of their best opponents and he would be a testament to the quality of the golden era to have produced such fine boxers.

Mormeck actually does hit pretty hard. Foreman was rocked by festherfists like Ali and Young to be sure who weren't as skilled as Mormeck! Fact.

As for Lyle and Pulev, despite Pulev being much larger than Lyle, Pulev is also FASTER than Lyle you idiot.

Again, LOOK at Lyle vs Foreman! Where is all the dancing and the speed?

I see 2 lumbering boxers relying on nothing but punching power to beat the other down. Great fight though!
