  • Comments Thread For: Abregu Intends To Move Up To Junior Middleweight Ranks

Following his disappointing performance against Sadam Ali last week in Atlantic City, Luis Carlos Abregú (36-2, 29 KOs) has revealed to BoxingScene via text message that he will moving up to junior middleweight for his next bout.

The Argentine did not appear to be himself in the ring, that coupled with Ali's outstanding performance resulted in disaster as far as Abregú was concerned. Difficulty making weight as well as inactivity are to blame according to the Salta man, and he admitted to feeling very weak in the ring after having a tough time making welterweight.

He needs to do something because he looked like crap against Ali...should have crushed him but he was like 70% of what he normally was.
