Comments Thread For: Kovalev Becoming an All-Around Fighter, Trainer Says

Plenty of credit for Sergey Kovalev’s win this past Saturday over Bernard Hopkins is going to Kovalev’s trainer, John David Jackson.

Jackson said afterward that he’s seen marked improvement in his fighter from the time they first began working together, with Kovalev growing into what he is now.

“Sergey’s special because he’s a fan-friendly fighter, but he learned all aspects

And with JDJ's help as well as proper matchmaking, Sergey will continue to improve.

He's certainly looked more technical. I have some concerns about punch resistance.

Most people think Stevenson and his manager Yvon Michel are scared to face the Krusher.

The Two canadians claim the fight is impossible to make since Kovy is with HBO yet they want to fight Hopkins who's also with HBO.

        Biggest joke in modern boxing!

I don't believe Hopkins signed a multi-fight agreement with HBO, whereas Kovalev did.

My understanding is that both Kovalev and Stevenson have fights remaining on their deals (not sure how many), while Hopkins is currently a free agent.

We'll have to see how he takes a huge punch. He has that pointy chin that reminds me of Jim Carey's animated Scrooge character like in the link below, lol. And that's coming from a fan of his.

Hopkins has fought 60+ times in his career and no one has finished him...He has been finished a grand total of 0 times in his 60 fight career.

I'm not really a Kovalev fan, but you are a ****ing moron...Typical of this ridiculous website.

The morons who post here used to annoy me when I first joined the site. Now I just find them amusing.

Before Kovalev vs Hopkins, I found it extremely amusing that so many people, who seemed to think they were experts in the sport, were calling Kovalev a one dimensional, straight line slugger, with no skill or ring IQ.

How anybody who knows anything at all about boxing could watch Krusher's recent fights and come with a judgement like that is almost beyond belief.
