I'd rather not start a new one and there probably should be a master thread on this.

After watching Stevenson yesterday-- I hate to beat a dead horse but all Stevenson really has is that counter left hand. Granted, its a great punch and he might be able to hurt Kovalev, but if Stevenson's only chance is to land a series of hard left hands, he's in trouble. Stevenson's jab sucks and he slaps with his right hook. If all Kovalev really has to worry about is that left hand, it shouldn't be too difficult to properly prepare for it in training.

Also, Stevenson has iffy stamina. If Kovalev can land to the body early, Stevenson might gas out by round 7, which is when Kovalev can step on the gas and go for the knockout.

And don't even try that "Oh well Stevenson hurt Bika several times and he takes a better punch than Kovalev so that means Stevenson knocks him out" crap either. That's a weak argument and furthermore, Kovalev seems to take a pretty good punch. I don't think he was ever hurt from Pascal's counter shots, but rather those punches looked more effective than they were because Kovalev was off balance, which is an issue for him I admit. And after a couple of rounds of getting tagged, Kovalev adjusted and began slipping those counters.

In conclusion, I picked Kovalev by TKO between rounds 8-11.
If this fight gets signed, the other polls and threads about this from 2013 and early 2014 need to be bumped. The majority opinion now is that Superduck has a puncher's chance and Kovalev is the better boxer, when everyone was saying Quackenson is the better boxer and Kovalev needed the KO back then.

There's a reason for that, obviously. I've always favored Kovalev because Superduck has always been ridiculously one handed. Kovalev has shown since that time that his boxing skills are better, and he's always had a more versatile offense. What's worse is that Quackenson's stamina has not looked good when he's taken deep in a fight.

Quackenson has a solid chance at hurting and stopping Kovalev, but now it looks like he'll have to do so early or he'll be screwed by the mid rounds.

Quackenson I've said this before but its still funny:

Announcer: Are you willing to fight Hopkins?

      Stevenson: Anyone!

      Announcer: What about Kovalev?

Stevenson: Eh... Eh.. Je suis désolé, monseiur, mais je ne parle pas anglais

Man that was hilarious back after Bellew.

"What do you think about Kovalev?"

"Who wants to see Hopkins?!" *crickets*

I'm convinced the fight happens late this year. Normally I don't buy into this whole "letting the fight build up" excuse but in this case, it might very well be true. Or it could be that they were hoping that Kovalev lost to Hopkins thus dismissing him as a solid opponent. Not sure.

Kovalevs tendency to square up when coming forward and retreating is what makes me think Stevenson would be more likely to get the ko. However Kovalev impressed me against Hopkins with his patience and boxing skills, he could easily win this.

Also Stevenson hasnt been fighting as tough opposition as Kovalev has, so it is hard to tell at this stage.
I've changed my mind since I wrote this and I think Kovalev is the favourite.

Stevenson has a very good punchers chance though, especially early on. Pascal was able to walk Kovalev onto some big counters (something Adonis is very good at, even to the point he over does it sometimes) in their fight, but Pascal doesn't punch as hard as StevensoN.

Kovalev seems to be better at control range, has power in both hands and has better stamina. He's also pretty good at fighting southpaws.

            Kovalev mid rounds Ko

I predict Stevenson vacates so he doesn't have to step in the ring with Kovalev.
