The man.
From those early fights on Sky Sports, to the big fights which were televised on Setanta/Primetime and barely anyone saw, to his return to Sky Sports as a superstar - it's been fantastic to watch Carl's career play out, he's firmly placed among the greats of British boxing.
If he gets one last fight I'll be there. If not, enjoy retirement champ, it's been a damn good one.

Excellent career and Carl will be on everyone's lips for years to come for the excitement he provided. Unfortunately the history books will not be kind to him as he will retire as only the second best super middleweight of his day.I know that Ward has problems outside the ring but when he didn't Froch and even more so Hearn didn't want to know. When you start talking legacy's as Froch himself often does then the Ward situation becomes a big factor and I am afraid will haunt him forever, what a shame because that aside Froch has always been a true worrier in some of the most exciting battles in recent years.
Maybe now it is time to retire and give the young guns a chance as it seems Carl is not willing at this stage to do this.

No reason he should feel any regrets if he retires now. Froch is a legend with nothing to prove to anyone.

I don't think he retires. This is probably just a ploy to try and pressure Chavez Jr into getting his **** together.
I would still like to see him have another crack at Ward too.

5 years ago his fights didn't even get shown live and he was in obscurity.
His world title fight with Jermain Taylor wasn't even shown live in the UK. It was shown on tape delay on ITV4 that isn't even a sports channel.
What Froch has been able to achieve both legacy wise and stardom wise is literally unbelievable.

On a side note, Carl is definitely looking his age. The Kessler rematch exemplified this; two post-prime SMWs wading into each other, displaying a fraction of the quality they once had.

If he was serious about giving Carl a rematch, he'd be willing to come over to the UK, fill a stadium, and get a career high pay day.
