I know he will I kept saying it when the fight ended. he wont leave the game on a bad L like this and he now knows he can take anyone out theres power he just went 12 went the hardest hitting guy there is and came out unmarked and ok. Hopkins still beats everyone else out there, if kov moves up he can own 175 again

It always annoys me when after any fight there are people calling for the loser to retire. Who are the fans to say when a fighter (let alone an all time great) should hang them up? Look, Bernard's a hall of famer no matter what he chooses to do, but take a moment to consider that he just went 12 rounds with a guy that all these other 'contenders' were getting knocked out by. He didn't get blown out in one or two rounds. Obviously all things must come to an end, but if Bernard wants to end on a high note and go for one last victory at the historic age of 50 (a nice round number, eh?), then I'd love to see it. And I think he's earned the right to make that choice on his own considering all he's accomplished in his career. That decision shouldn't be made by casual boxing fans who cry "retire" every time a fighter loses.

In my mind he has nothing left to prove. If I were him I would take one more fight after he turns 50 which according to tonight's broadcast is only in January so it's not like waiting around for a whole extra year. Seems silly but being able to say he fought when he was 50 (and not 49) might help his legacy simply because 50 is a prettier number to go out on then 49 (I know that might sound dumb).

I'd like to see him take one last fight with a weaker quality opponent and go out on a win. How weak of an opponent? I'm not sure because before tonight I thought he would beat anyone at 175.

No matter what he decides he's earned the right to either go out with his head held high, or keep fighting as long as he wants.

If he does choose to fight Stevenson it wouldn't be for money. He has plenty of that. According to celebrity net worth, he has more than $40 mil in the bank. If he were to fight Stevenson, it would be for furthering his legacy. Money is strictly secondary.

well,,,he was dominated and hes 49 yrs old. I think its pretty fair to say he should retire. he did have a great career and won some good fights. why fight on now? doesn't make sense

He can do whatever the hell he wants. Hopkins is a legend. Like he said, his taking this fight was everything boxing is supposed to be.

Thats more than enough money for a 50 year old disciplined man for the rest of his life.
