Hoppie lost his biggest fights

Roy Jones 1 Jermain taylor 1&2 Calzaghe and Chad dawson. Bernard was okay not great. Hops losses speak volumes on his meager career. Running from Chad dawson and never seeking a rematch spoke volumes.

im right with you on this. his longevity is amazing but hes also lost fights to guys that weren't exactly atg material. he does great against one dimensional sluggers or ordinary boxers but struggles against the slicker quicker boxer types. not exactly a crime in that but to be a top 20 or so atg you need to be able to beat guys like calzache,,,dawson and taylor. hes an obvious hall of famer and genetic freak but not near in class to the atg's of the past such as hagler...moore etc..

I'm in complete agreement on everything. I consider him ONE of the Greats in his ERA. But not all-time Great. He never beat anyone Great that was his size. He got beat by Jermain and Chad for god's sake. If Roy Jones hadn't moved up in weight, he wouldn't have made those 20 weak defenses against c/b level fighters.

His age exaggerrates his legacy way too much. If OST was involved I'd give him more credit but since the Pascal OST situation Hopkins has ducked OST more than he has Andre Ward lol! Hopkins is the most racist and assinine fighter I've personally witnessed. Hopkins is TBE of illegal tactics and getting away with it. His skillset is mediocre compared to his gift of gab. I've never seen a guy flop like Hopkins or have such a weak resume get blown up into ATG status. His best win is Tito who was one dimensional and in his 3rd weight class. Hopkins is only a 2 weight champ lol. His 160lb run was **** when broken down... ODLH and Tito are his best wins and had to clean his division up for him. Right after Taylor beat him twice. Everyone seems to forget his acting in Dawson 1 and then getting beat the 2nd time also. Bhop will go to 168 for GGG but not Ward... anyone else that's a legit duck. LMFAO! So true. His claim to fame is a pudgy Oscar @ 160 and another Welterweight, in Tito Trinidad, who is one-dimensional. Notice how all of his notable wins were guys moving up two weight classes to fight him. He even waited for Calzaghe to move up to have a chance.

Sk will retire Hopkin's tonight. I will be surprised if a 49 yr old man goes 12 with an ELITE fighter. Hopkin's is like Mayweather when it comes to picking opponents. They like tp take the road less traveled. The problem with this fight for Hopkin's is, he didn't "pick" SK. He HAD to fight him. Hopkin's has always been overrated in my book. He's a good fighter but that's it. He's a "hustle" fighter who had to work to be good. It wasn't natural for him. He's had a good run but his claim to fame was fighting smaller HOF fighters. He cheated on the scales for YEARS fighting at middleweight but was really a light heavy weight. The wins over Wright, Trinidad, Hoya, and a drunk Pavlik, was mainly due to size, not skill. Let him tell it, he's so special but to me, he's an average fighter.

I'm glad more people see the con-artist in Bernard. Dude debuted at 175 and lost. Decided to drop down two weight classes to compete against mediocre fighters. Then made a name for himself by waiting around for two Welterweight stars to move up to 160. All those names you mentioned were fought @ "Winkyweight". LMFAO! BHop is a con-artist and a bully.
