What's behind this habit of Barrera calling out Pac when Pac is about to meet someone else and refusing to meet Pac when Pac was available?

Isn't it funny how these 3 fighters, the 3 trio, Manny-Morales-Barrera, can cause and stir up such a commotion when even though they each keep fighting each other, it's just 3! Never has 3 fighters been so intertwined or linked with each other that no matter who faces who, it's always a great fight! I don't care what Manny does really, I just hope it's smart and well thought out before they execute.

Yeah, pal, I'm aware of that wonderful trait--paying back whatever kindness one got. And, like you, that's something no Filipino should lose and every other nationality should learn from. T'will make the world so much better.

But then, there's something the Romans have that we must also learn from: Carpe diem! Sieze the day! I'm with you that Manny's people should take on the MAB challenge and get to work fast. Those TV and beer/food conglomerate deals can be back-burnered with no loss for Manny.

As for the need for tune-ups, and having Jaureigi as foe, I think Jaureigi should not be seen as a mere tune-up. The fella holds a belt. So, instead of Jaureigi, I humbly suggest that Pac go straight for MAB, who holds a couple of belts, and who, by the way, he is familiar (and oh, so very familiar) with.

You're absolutely right grayfist. Pac and his camp should seize the day! IMO Pac can accomodate the MAB rematch in July and still have time to fight Erik late this year. If they are indeed after the glory and money, there is no better immediate fights for him but these two in that order. The MAB rematch is the fight people have been praying to see for over two years now. I will be surprised if Shelly won't be able to see all the good things this fight will bring for him, Manny and the boxing world. This is a no brainer. I'm hoping they will make this fight happens.

This is similar to the Mayweather-Margarito situation, Mayweather/Barrera are making challenges to fighter's that already have another fight lined up. I think Barrera's just making this challenge with the anticipation that Pac will turn it down.

What about this instead?...Instead of Manny, Barrera faces Bobby Pacquiao, kills him in the ring (not literally but puts on a beating that ends Bobby's career). Barrera then swipes the mic from the announcers paws and calls out Manny who is in the ring holding his beaten/bloodied brother. Manny has no choice but to accept the challenge-what a build up! This totally has the Best of the Best/Kickboxer feel to it.

Pac vs Morales II was a WBC eliminator bout. Which made pacquiao Barrera's mandatory for his wbc belt.

The WBC is enforcing it and is actually a chanllenge from them not Barrera. The WBC told Barrera he had to fight Pacquiao he agreed, Pacquiao hasnt accepted yet... but he needs to since he is the mandatory.

There is nothing fishy about this... its how its usually done.

first paragraph is exactly my point. however, imo pac can make a win-win situation out of the recent development of events surrounding him. he can let go about the tuneup fight for now, agree to a mab rematch in june or july and then fight erik in october or november. after those two, then he can entertain the thought of putting up a show in front of his countryman.

my point is, he is to take care of business now without any anticipation. what is he hesitating on? this is the biggest fight of his career -- a chance to become a 3-time world champino in 3 weight classes and the top p4p fighter in the world. the erik rubber match doesn't even come close to the rewards and recognition the mab fight offers. this fight is no doubt a shot for the hall of fame spot and a solid boxing legacy!

the timing in which mab and his camp have repeatedly done this and then backs out upon sensing danger and wbc's 7-day notice to pac to make an outright decision smell fishy to me.
