BERNARD HOPKINS may have more monikers than most - but the one he should be dubbed with is ‘Superman’.

The man currently nicknamed ‘The Alien’ and formerly ‘B-Hop’ and ‘The Executioner’ goes into a light-heavyweight unification bout on Saturday night just two months shy of his 50th birthday.

The WBA and IBF king will take on big-punching WBO champion Sergey Kovalev in Atlantic City this weekend 26 years on from his first-ever professional contest. He makes Ryan Giggs’ career look a little short.

ha,,,hes a real superman picking on smaller weightclass guys that come up in weight he can bully into ugly decision wins like pavlick and trinidad. of course the slicker boxers like dawson,,calslappy or taylor have his day. now if kovalev whos as big as Bernard and well rounded with power in both hands falls prey to Hopkins without controversy i'll give him his due but as of now im not sold on Hopkins being a top 10 atg. he beats certain styles but to be atg you have to beat all styles

If the Hopkins vs Calzahge had the same judges as Canelo vs Trout; Hopkins wins. Ineffective punches don't really add up to what falls out a donkeys behind.

Hopkins is going to embarrass Kovalev. He might make him irrelevant.

I don't agree. I cant stand calslappy with his arrogance and style of fighting but he clearly beat Hopkins fair and square

getting close. im still totally up in the air on who's going to win this. if Hopkins was 15 yrs younger it would be a no brainer but he is 49 yrs old and kovalev despite his somewhat weak resume does obviously crack hard with both hands and has descent boxing skills. its a toss up in my eyes
