ward only fought at light heavyweight in the olympics so that his close personal friend andre dirrell could compete as well in the middleweight division.
in the amateur ranks you weigh in on the day of the fight and might be in the ring fighting two hours later. its not like the pros where you get roughly 36 hours to recover, allowing you to cut much more weight and get in the ring significantly heavier.
finally, as i have stated on numerous occasions already, ward isnt unwilling to move up to 175. in fact he has stated on multiple occasions he will move up to 175, just that he wants to allow himself to grow into the division naturally and not rush things.
there are fights at 168, not his fault most guys are ducking him like the plague. even so there are good fights to be made against guys willing to fight him, he just needs to get back in the ring right not and the rest isnt too important atm.Comment
