He is smarter than Vargas has ever been. If you cannot admit the obvious, you shouldn't talk boxing. You are being a fanboy and not an objective fan of the sport.
I never hate on canelo, anyone who knows me on here know im one of his biggest supporters.... vargas pre tito had great defence and offence, same as canelo but vargas was just a better fighter.....as for getting hit alot? That came in the tito fight and after.. but then again every fighter gets hit in the sport of boxing..oh and vargas had great ability to stand in front of tito and slip punches..thats good defence

Check out his masterful performance over campas with only 14 fights, then raul martinez, howard clarke, winky wright(close fight), ike quartey, ross thompson....he got hit in all those just as any fighter would, canelo included!

I never said feroz would whitewash or ko canelo, it would be a hell of a close fight but i feel feroz was an all around better fighter then current canelo.

      He was..........

Vargas was a better boxer but not a smarter one. Fighter's have behavior in the ring. They have habits and what not. Vargas would be in the fight for a few rounds BUT then he would go toe to toe because Canelo knows he would be tougher and that's where it goes downhill for Vargas. Vargas had no discipline in the ring. He was not going to stick to a game plan. Once he gets hit, he gets mad and tries to take your head off. He could not box like Oscar, Leonard, Pacquiao, Hearns, etc. He didn't have the discipline necessary to win the fight. Furthermore, you keep talking about "pre" Tito. LoL. That was Vargas's prime!!! Against both Tito and Hoya, he was in his prime and you saw what happened to him. Canelo has room to improve to be an A Level fighter, but he isn't far from it right now. His discipline, ring generalship, power, accuracy, good defense, and ring IQ would be too much for Vargas.

This is an unfair comparison. Vargas had an extensive amateur career with Pan-American and Olympic experience. Canelo had no amateur experience.

Plus the reason they rushed Vargas in his career was because his promoters thought he self destruct.

If they were to have fought I'd think Canelo would pound Vargas to the ground and TKO him by the 10th round.

Nah, canelo doesnt hit like tito.... hes punches more like a quartey... i just cant agree with you on this one man..peace! And tito took vargas prime.. why do you think he retired young with only 34-35 fights?? And you really think a fighter like wifredo rivera would knock down vargas pre tito when quartey, campas, marquez, wright and thompson couldnt??? Thats vey laughable.. you must not have ever watched his fights live and most likely familiarized yourself with him through youtube videos, although you would never admit it!

Self destruct?????? No they rushed vargas because he had the goods and matured into a high level pro fighter at the age of 22....and had tito not wrapped his hands illegally (which i believe he did)and low blowed el feroz fernando probably would have won that fight... and your overating canelo's power here...

vargas was an awesome fighter. his camp fed him to tito too early in his career, the vargas that was pre-tito would handle canelo, but make no mistake about it, he was officially past his prime after that last round in the tito fight and any knowledgeable fan will tell you. he was way past his prime against odlh and was reverting to juicing.

trust if mayweather had a left hand like tito, we'd be using 'canelo pre-mayweather'.

prime for prime, i think this is a great fight with the edge to vargas. i could DEFINITELY see him getting into canelos head.
