no he got popular because he actually fights and brings the action. emmanuel augustus had a pretty ****ty record too but that dude came to fight so that's why people like him.

for example look at what happened to rubio against golovkin, he felt one punch and decided it was time to call it night. rosado had his face ripped opened and still wanted to keep the fighting. fans like that because they respect it. not everyone in boxing is going to have a record of 40-0 or 40-2 etc. some guys just arent that good but that doesn't mean he can't be popular.

also, if they had just gave him mismatches im sure his record could be a lot better. he might not the best but there are a lot of guys that he can beat.

Despite the fact they theyre actual contenders, guys like Rosado and Josesito Lopez are the perfect examples of gatekeepers. They have entertaining styles so they will always be on TV and pretty solid fighters but they will never be legit contenders.
