Ortiz has got the physical attributes, but not the temperament. He crumbles under sustained pressure. The Berto fight was as good as it will ever get for him.

Ortiz is already one of the greatest... quitters in boxing history... that is... he might have surpassed Julio Cesar Chavez...

Good call, this is what it amounts to chief. The dude's fun as hell to watch and his attitude is cool too. I hope he does well cause he's provided a lot of entertainment.

He's already one of the most memorable quitters. Does that count?

vic is good and the talent is there but his mind is else where. ortiz is not fighting to survive, he now has other options to put food on the table. when u're in a combat sport, and if fighting is not ur first priority then u might as well quit becuase u will never reach the top with a mind set like that and thats exactly what ortiz is going thru right now. he's not desperate to win anymore because he knows he can still get his money doing something else so when it gets tuff in the ring, he quits.

Ortiz is bi-polar when he fights. He either gives up on his stool or he digs deep like a champ. If the Ortiz that fought Berto shows up, he can be a factor again.

to be honest, i thought there was time when it looked like ortiz wanted out in the berto fight. the thing is that berto didnt capitalize on it like ortiz's other opponents did.
