I think Cotto's experience is gonna take him a LONG way in this fight. Canelo is a strong kid, but he only goes into fights with Plan A and that's it and it's shown in some of his bigger fights. Cotto has the experience, footwork, missile of a jab that's gonna stop Canelo in his tracks (he only walks in straight lines) and more variety of setting up his punches.

Canelo's also not been battle tested against someone who's left hook alone can change the course or end the night for Canelo if he tries swinging for the fences and gets caught with something ******.

Also with a 14 week training camp Canelo had, he "might've" peaked too early. Seems excessive to me let alone he's still cutting weight.

I see this fight going either way, I am going for Cotto, and I still give him the edge, but this is my un biased outcome for either guy

        Canelo
        - I can see Canelo straight rocking Cotto with a uppercut in the middle rounds, Cotto is totally rocked and tries to hold on for dear life. Cotto recovers but is not the same, Canelo finishes him off around round 7-8 - Canelo wins by TKO middle rounds

        Cotto
        - I can see him disrupting Canelo with his jab the entire fight, and probably drop Canelo in the early rounds alot of body work from Cotto. But Canelo recovers and just gets outboxed he cant figure out how to get past Cottos heavy jab. - Cotto by UD

Canelo is going to be eating Burritos through a straw.

Meanwhile Canelo most notably got stunned by Cotto's brother & the hitters he has fought have been only hitters without the high level of boxing ability of a guy like Cotto. I actually think if there is a KO it'll be Cotto doing the KOing & Canelo is gonna win a decision either fairly or unfairly.
I kind of agree where you are coming from when you say that Canelo's chin is being oversold. He was hurt with Jose Cotto but then again he recovered nicely... so it is debatable. Miguel has also been staggered in a few fights, but I never said he had a weak chin. He gets cut easy is what I'm trying to say. If it was his younger days of course it wouldn't even be mentioned, but after all the wars he's had his face is not the same.

I made too many of those "What if Fury puts Wlad in an ambulance" type threads and the mods got shook and slipped and grazed the ban button. I took one for the team.

Good post! I agree that Cotto needs to be wary of the uppercut. Pretty much the same as what I predict. I would be in shock if Cotto dropped Canelo, but hey I've seen bigger surprises.

It does sound like an unbiased opinion. I am a bias Canelo fan. I think he has faster punches and better combinations than Cotto. He hits harder and takes a better punch. He has KO power in both hands while Cotto only has KO power in his left hand. I think Canelo will hurt Cotto and finish him and it won't take that long.
