People expecting Canelo to pressure and break Miguel down are going to be very disappointed. He's not that type of fighter naturally and he's not a more skilled boxer than Cotto. Force to him to move his feet and hit him as he turns. Canelo isn't light on his feet and Cotto can also exploit that.

Meh. Cotto is winning this. I have no doubt. Cotto is just too experienced. This will be Margaritos fight for Canelo, not in the beatdown type of sense but in the learning/reflection type of sense. Canelo will become better because of this and will start developing and using the rest of his complete arsenal. He is too green and stubborn, has fallen in love with and has adopted the "mexican toe to toe" mentality. He has bought into it.
His feelings will also come into play. He wants to go macho with Cotto and punish him. Cotto will exchange with a cold heart, calculated and will know what to do when that stamina starts draining. Canelo won't. Canelo's heart will be a thing of beauty to watch though. The heart of young ****y lion trying to overcome the savvy technical veteran.
This will be an excellent fight regardless of what I think of these two right now. But yeah, Cotto takes it. He knocks out Canelo I believe within 6-8.

Canelo will KO Cotto. Cotto will take a knee though.

I've done my share of bashing Cotto, (mostly because of his rabid, hypocritical fan boys) but I respect him.
I think this fight will start slow, with both guys feeling each other out, Cotto will most likely win first 3 rounds due to his activity and a better footwork. The fireworks will start in rounds 4-5.
People say Canelo doesn't have a style to trouble Cotto, which is true to same extent, but do you guys really expect Cotto to pull a Margarito 2 on the ginger? I don't.
At some point they will exchange, and Canelo will get the better of it, he's not some monstrous puncher, but he has enough power to hurt and KO Cotto.
I don't think fight will last long due to both guys' questionable staminas and the fact that both are very good body punchers.
Canelo by stoppage in rounds 5-7.Last edited by Szef; 08-15-2015, 10:47 AM.
