    Lineal is good if the fighter actually fights other top challengers in that division. Cotto, is never going to fight at 160 its going to be catch weights. Floyd being Lineal at 154 is BS he's never going to fight the top guys at 154 either.

      I think the sport would be better if you had only one champion-the lineal champ-in each division.

              The idea of the linear or lineal champion, serves no purpose at all. All it does is give promoters and governing bodies a means to sell their champion, or their belt to the fans as being more valid and more worthy than the others in that division, based only on what happened in the past, rather than what's going on today.
