Hopkins is going to make Kovalev look bad, Kovalev is going to look like every other B hop opponent, they will try to land a power shot and get frustrated when he ties up and holds.
Too bad Kovalev isn't every other Hopkins opponent.

Hopkins looked average against Karo Murat and Beibut Shumenov..... LOL

    That's all.

Easy work Kovalev. No doubt about it.

Love Bhop but Kovalev is going to finish him saturday. It's going to be weird seeing BHOP stopped. It's going to be the same feeling like when pac got KTFO after being so dominant for several years.

At 50 I think we all can answer the questions posed because we deal in facts - Kovalev is good do not get me wrong, but when you get to a certain level you need more than power, gotta look at the kind of opposition he has been having his way with - this is why cats like Errol Spence jr. And Julian Williams are top prospects because they step up their level of comp so they do not develop false bravado...like Gary russell jr and lucien bute.. to be able to compete at the highest level, and hold a interview, witty and articulate - you have to be pretty dam good to bw boxing for almost 3 decades and have your faculties - its cool to go against the grain but have a stronger argument because even if bhop is on PEDS - at 50 he is still a yoda etc... no one in any other sport can come close and this has to be the most brutal of sports

Like I said Hopkins is NOT an undefeated fighter. I realize it's hard for some to look back at the fights where he came up short, but they're all there to watch on you tube. Of course there's speculation as to how this fight plays out, but saying Hopkins schools Kovalev is about as basic as saying Kovalev knocks him out. Anything is possible, and that's why we have a forum to throw out our theories. Our opinions don't matter much beyond this forum or any other media platform so I don't know why you're taking another man's opinion beyond what it is. You act like I don't already have a framed monument of the Living Legend B-Hop and I'm trying to discredit the man. Don't worry, I'm sure B-Hop pays you well. I'm a fan of boxing and I have just made an educated guess on what is going down this Saturday and I based it off a few different key fights. Pascal vs Hopkins I (rounds 1-4). Dawson vs Hopkins II (pretty much the entire fight) Calzaghe vs Hopkins (second half of the fight) and the fact that Hopkins went to war with Murat who Cleverly beat. Outboxed Cloud who Campillo was robbed against and was recently demolished by Beterbiev. Went the distance with Shumenov whom Campillo was also robbed against ,twice. Meanwhile, Kovalev has had steady track record with undefeated fighters (minus one Sillakh) and has not been taken past the 7th round. It's a pretty fair take on what should be a great fight.

Like B-Hop said in his own words concerning the Kovalev fight, "I won't have scratch on me".

Maybe not, but his heart will be tested, and according to JDJ, quite literally as they're going to punch through Hopkins' chest.

There will also be a little bit of an issue with size. if you haven't already seen these two next to each other, you'll be a little surprised by how much bigger Kovalev actually is. Anyways, I'll break it down the best I can. Kovalev likes attacking off the jab. He keeps his distance and establishes range. He has very quick feet in that he takes half steps towards and away from his target without losing any of his positioning. This is a key factor against Hopkins who was kept at a distance against Dawson's long jab and quick straight 1-2 combinations. Dawson is a south paw, so Hopkins has a better chance at dealing with Kovalev's orthodox position (comparisons to Pavlik come to mind, even though The Ghost was anything but invisible or quick of feet) Hopkins has a very good lead right hand. His timing is key when this tricky shot is carrying the round for him. He almost throws the shot blindly, and billy goats his way into an inside position so he can then turn his opponent. This is a good tactic against a fighter with limited offense. That's why it worked so well against Pascal and Pavlik. They wait on Hopkins and they let him dictate the pace and set traps. Kovalev is a high pressure fighter, but from a distance. Many think he's just a big right hand but the shot that surprises everyone is the follow up jab he adds to his straight 1-2 combination. It's hard to time and these shots are accurate and hard. Hopkins knows how to use the ropes but Kovalev has already proven to show he can find a hole, as well as deal with elbows and butts, while finally finding the money shot. Head, body, it doesn't matter, and it doesn't matter if he uses a right or a left. I expect Hopkins to be aggressive in this fight and try to push Kovalev back. If he can't do that, then I don't see him doing enough to win rounds. He must be offensive and that means taking the fight to the center of the ring and lull him into those traps with his lead rights, taking away his aggression and using it against him. I just don't see that happening. If Kovalev hits as hard as Calzaghe (which is pretty obvious) then I feel a fight where Bernard is constantly on his back foot is not only possible but for certain. I feel he hits harder than anyone B-Hop has ever been in the ring with and by the looks of all the defenses he has already cracked, the power seems to be more out of this world than the Alien.
