If Hopkins were Filipino, we'd have 38438974 threads and 389387498237498237 replies concerning PED allegations and su****ions...

Why does Kovalev looks older than Hopkins?

Kovalev does look old. You would never believe he's one of the best light heavyweights. Ironic he looks old when he is the one doing the damage instead of taking it.

I thought it was generally agreed that Hopkins is on PEDs. He has a history of rejecting drug testing.

But yeah since he isn't Filipino or Russian or whatever he doesn't get all the "you don't know what kinda **** they have over there!!" comments.

Same reason why Tim Bradley looks older than Pacquiao; Or Roger Mayweather and Brother ****m looking older than Jim Lampley.

Then guys like Golovkin looking ten years younger than he is. And Robert Garcia looking ten years older.

Some guys just lived hard life and it shows in their face/skin. Well, Roger is just a crackhead, so that explains that.

Some guys just look older like Bradley. And Golovkin has baby face.

Both Kovalev and Hopkins had a hard life, so the rest probably just comes down to genetics... Although looking close, I don't think Kovalev really looks older. It's just that if somebody told you they were both 40, yu'd believe them.

                  This.

Heh, I'll never confidently bet against Hopkins ever again. I actually picked him to outpoint Pavlik just because of the size difference of Pavlik never fighting above 160, and at that time, before he became a bloated drunk, not really rehydrating above the low 170's, while Hopkins likely used to weighing in 185 on fight night. And I knew that Pavlik's punch would not effect Hopkins, even if he did land more often. And of course not to mention Hopkins being Hopkins. With his defensive posturing he's got going on.

But I thought Cloud would beat him (I know...) And I thought Pascal would beat him. I was pretty confident with both these picks.

                  But never again!

From what I've seen on various boxing forums, and social media sites (facebook boxing warzone, HBO facebook boxing page, and here), it's about 50/50.

I can't forget the Hopkins who was schooled by Dawson though... really bad loss for his legacy.. Not to mention, Calzaghe clearly outworked Hopkins 11 out of 12 rounds..fight shouldn't have been close...
Those two losses were clear as day to me too. Both fighters, were all wrong for him. He needs someone slow, always coming straight like a mummy whilst throwing one punch at a time. Tarver and Pascal are passive boxers that fight in spurts. Pavlik moved up two weight classes and was never that good skill-wise. A slow fighter with slow feet and his power was negated simply by moving up a couple of weight classes where he was a puncher at 160.
